Set over 2 rooms that open as one. Ratio 1:4.
Buttercups and Blossoms are set over 2 rooms but can sometimes spend time together when the two rooms are opened as one. Organised so children access all equipment and resources at any time and make their own choices of activities. Staff-led activities help them experience the other learning areas: Maths, Literacy, Understanding the world, Expressive arts and design.
Continuous provision, enhanced
Rich continuous provision is enhanced according to children’s interests, the time of year, and what we want them to learn. Bright and airy with lots of space to move around with ease and safety.
Toilet training and positive encouragement to visit the bathroom and practise good hygiene before eating meals. Circle time involves singing, rhymes, stories and discussion — enjoyed by all and a big help with vocabulary and confidence to communicate.
Buttercups and Blossoms share staff and resources. The rooms open up so children move between groups freely.

Four children per practitioner. Above the EYFS statutory minimum.
Specific learning areas
Maths, Literacy, Understanding the world, Expressive arts and design — the four specific EYFS areas, in addition to the three prime areas.
Outdoor play, every day
Run around, jump, balance, throw, catch. Helps self-regulation and gives calmness when back inside for further learning.

Toilet training, choice-led play, circle time, outdoors
Settling-in, breakfast, continuous provision across both rooms. Circle time.
Hygiene routine before lunch. Freshly prepared lunch. Quiet time.
Outdoor play, staff-led learning activities, snack tea. Handover at home time.
