Our approach
Play with a Purpose — EYFS-aligned, key-person-led, outdoors every day

How we teach
Three things underpin every day
Children aged 3 months to 5 years learn best through play, repetition, and trusted relationships. Our curriculum — ‘Play with a Purpose’ — runs on those three.
EYFS-aligned learning, delivered through play, repetition, and a key person who knows your child.
Play with a Purpose
Safe, nurturing and friendly environment for children to learn, explore and thrive. We do not rush learning. We provide repetitive play for confident, independent, ambitious learners ready for the next step.
Key person system
Every child has a key person. Allocated either by the child or where additional needs benefit from a specific match. The key person knows your child’s routine, soothes, and milestones.
Outdoor learning, every day
A secure garden play area with lots of space to explore. Children play in all seasons and observe the changes that occur.
01
Personal, social and emotional development
A positive image of self and of others. Belonging, sharing, regulating, and the confidence to ask for what they need.
- A positive image of self
- Belonging and respect for others
- Self-regulation and confidence to communicate
02
Communication and language
Songs and rhymes, story time, eye-level conversations. Practitioners give children at least 10 seconds to think and respond — we don’t interrupt or finish sentences.
- Daily story time and singing
- 10-second listening rule
- Support for non-verbal cues and Makaton
03
Physical development
Gross-motor and fine-motor skills built through movement — soft play in Daisies, climbing and football (Little Kicks) in Poppies. Outdoor play every day.
- Soft play and floor-based movement (Daisies, Daffodils)
- Climbing, throwing, catching (Buttercups onwards)
- Little Kicks football and weekly dance (Poppies)

03
Understanding the world & Expressive arts and design
Gardens, festivals, museums and library visits. Music, dance, role play, and craft. A culturally rich, inclusive environment built around children’s interests.

Three prime areas, four specific areas. Observed continuously, planned around your child’s interests, delivered through play.
